How do you know how much my CD, DVD or Game is worth?

We use a number of ways to work out how much your CD, DVD or Game is worth including how popular it is, how many we already have in stock and how much it will cost us to sell it. The price we offer is therefore based on these factors and can change regularly.

How many CDs, DVDs and Games Can I Sell?

You can trade in as many CDs, DVDs and Games as you want but we have a minimum of 10 items. As TurnIntoCash has been designed for consumers you can only trade in a maximum of two items of the same thing. What can I trade in for cash?

We accept CD albums, DVDs, Blu Rays and Games (PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, PSP, Nintendo DS, and Xbox 360) as long as they have a valid barcode. Unfortunately we are not able to pay you for CD singles, items marked not for resale, copies or promotional items

My CDs, DVDs and Games are damaged. Will you pay me for them?

Everything you trade in must be complete. This means have all original sleeve notes, cases and disks. We will accept items that have normal wear and tear damage (usage / storage scratches or minor damage to the case) as we can refurbish them before selling them. I’ve got loads of CD singles. Can I trade them in?

Sorry we can’t take them.

Do you take ex rental DVDs?

We can take some ex Rental DVDs please enter the barcode as normal and our system will let you know if we can accept them

Could I not just sell CDs, DVDs and Games on an auction site?

You could but TurnIntoCash offers a hassle free alternative to auction sites. We take out the pain of selling CDs, DVDs and Games and best of all using us is totally free of charge.

I’ve never heard of TurnIntoCash.com before. Who are you?

TurnIntoCash.com is a new business but the people behind it have years of experience in offering consumers cash for things they no longer want. In addition we received significant venture capital investment from Redeem, one of the UK’s leading mobile phone and ink cartridge recyclers. What happens to my CDs, DVDs and Games?

When we receive your CDs, DVDs and Games we carry out refurbishment on them if required and then add them to our stock. These are then sold both nationally and internationally through a number of sales channels and outlets. See the How it works section

Will you pay more for unopened or unused items?

Sorry we are unable to pay more for unused items.

What happens if you reject something?

We only reject items that do not meet our terms and conditions. When your items are tested we will email you about any that have been rejected and why.

We are unable to return items that have been rejected but as part of our commitment to ensuring the best quality service all rejects are double checked to ensure that we do not mistakenly reject something.

Will you pay for copies or non-original disks?

No we are unable to pay for these and are unable to return them if you send them in.

Is my parcel insured if I send it using the Freepost Address Label?

If in the unlikely event your items are lost in the post when you use the Freepost address label you may be able to claim some money back from the Royal Mail. To do this please ensure that you get proof of postage when you post your items.

Why do I need Proof of Postage when I send using the Freepost Address?

Proof of Postage is free from any Post Office Counter and allows you to claim back a small amount for your loss. If this happens our customer services team will provide you with all the information you need.

Have you got my parcel yet?

Parcels can take up to 10 working days to arrive with us using the Freepost address (about 14 days). You will receive an email from us when it arrives. In the unlikely event that your parcel is lost by Royal Mail we will help you make a claim for the loss. To check the status of your account please visit the My Account section.

I sent more than one parcel. Have you received everything?

If you send your items in more than box we will send you an email as each box arrives. Please note that due to the way Royal Mail operate your parcels may not arrive with us at the same time.

I’ve traded in more than 50 CDs, DVDs and Games. Can I get a free courier?

Yes. You should have received an email asking if you want a courier but if not please contact our courier team at support@turnintocash.com.

I want to send my parcel recorded delivery. Will you pay the postage?

Unfortunately we are not able to pay postage for recorded delivery items. If you have traded more than 50 items then you will be entitled to a free courier and we will email you.

My local Post Office won't accept my parcel. What should I do?

Every Post Office should accept our Freepost label and also give you a proof of postage certificate. In the very unlikely event that this occurs please contact us as soon as possible with the name and location of the Post Office so we can ensure that this does not happen again. If they still will not accept it then you should take it to a larger post office who will accept it.

I don’t live in the UK. Can I still use the service?

Unfortunately TurnIntoCash.com is currently only available in the UK. We will be launching other sites in due course.

Trade In Questions

I have lost my password / username

Please go to the My Account tab on the website and follow the lost password steps.

What is Save for Later?

Save for later is a quick way to save your trade just by selecting a username and password. You can then retrieve your trade from any PC. Please note that your trade is not complete until you complete the full registration process and click on Complete Trade.

How do I view my order status?

Log in and view the current status of your trades in the My Account section.

Can I add additional Items to my Trade In?

Once you have clicked on Complete Trade you can’t add any additional items to this trade. You can do a new trade in as long as you add ten or more items to the cart.

Can I delete my Trade?

You can delete a trade which has not been received by us at any time. Simply go to the My Account section. Please note that if you delete a trade it cannot be recovered and you will have to start again.

How long do I have to send my items?

We can only hold the value of a trade for 10 working days. We allow 14 days from the trade complete date to receive your items and after that may recalculate the value if it has changed significantly. Trades not received after 1 month will be deleted.

I’ve lost the email with my Freepost Label — can I get another?

Yes. Simply log in to the My Account section and look up the trade. This allows you to reprint the label at any time.

Why do I need to write my customer number on the box?

Occasionally the barcode is damaged in the post and is unreadable. By writing your customer number and a few details on the box we can ensure that your CDs, DVDs and Games are processed as normal.

Do you take different region DVDs, Blu Rays and Games?

We do accept some and suggest that you enter the barcode in the system. We regularly review what we can and cannot take so if we can’t give a value the first time it may be possible in the future.

Do you take VHS tapes or vinyl?

No sorry we can’t.

What happens after I finish trading in my items?

We aim to keep you informed every step of the way and we will email you the progress of your trade as follows:

Registration Email – details of your trade and also what you need to do next along with your freepost labels

Parcel Received Email – when we receive each of your parcels. Please note that parcels sent at the same time do not always arrive at the same time.

Testing and Payment Approved Confirmation – A confirmation of what we have received and how much it was worth

Cheque Despatch – Letting you know when we have sent your cheque

If you do not receive our emails please check your spam folder or login to the “My Account” section to see the current status of your trade.

How much is rejected?

To be honest very little is rejected where we can refurbish it. Only when there are missing disks or deep scratches can we offer nothing. Of course we also cannot pay you for fakes or copies.
